
PROMOTIONAL STRATEGIES WORKSHOP
This insightful, hands-on workshop by author and artist Lisa L. Cyr will
assist designers, illustrators/artists and photographers in breaking through
the competitive landscape with engaging and thought-provoking promotional
initiatives that will inspire, motivate and most importantly, get response.
The lecture will include such topics as: Identifying Your Brand & Target
Market, Analyzing the Competitive Landscape, Direct Mail Strategies & New
Business Development, Integrated Marketing Initiatives, Building and
Maintaining a Mailing List, Exploring Innovative Production Techniques,
Creating Signature Applications, Public Relation Strategies, Getting
Features in Books and Magazines, Producing a Media Kit, Writing Press
Releases, Web-based Promotional Strategies, Testing, Implementation, and
Follow-up Procedures. Each student will also get a personal portfolio
review. Cyr's latest books Innovative Promotions That Work, The Art of
Promotion, Brochure Design That Works, Graphic Design That Work and The
Little Book of Big Promotions will be available for viewing. Participants
are encouraged to bring their current promotional collateral for
consideration in future book and editorial projects.
Duration: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 12:00 and 1:00pm to 5:00pm (Five
all-day sessions)
AV Requirements: Digital Projector, Monitor Cable, Large Screen, Electronic
Pointer, Extension Cord, Microphone, Large Table for Display of Materials
and Art Tables for students to work.
Supply List: A supply list will be sent prior to the first day of class.
Portfolio Reviews: Included in the workshop.
