THE ART OF WORKING ON AN EPIC SCALE

Instructor: Lisa L. Cyr

This exciting workshop will focus on creating large works of art in water-based media on canvas,

utilizing a freeform and fluid process that connects the mind, body and hand. For expressive signature

mark-making onto the grand-scaled painted surface, altered, repurposed and custom tools will be employed.

Working in a painterly freeform approach, the class will explore automatism techniques and approaches

to ignite spontaneous visceral responses. Through interpretative sound and essential oil stimuli, unique experiences, rhythms and movement create a stream-of-consciousness approach to painting. The  interpretive experience transforms the artmaking process into a performance, where the pictorial

surface becomes a theatrical stage and the paint, mediums and instruments are the dramatic actors

dancing across the surface. Zen-based mindfulness, studio meditation and rituals, yoga ideology and

so much more will be included in this unique workshop.

and much more!
